Horribly expensive!!! If you can wait a few hours to get your pet medical attention, until your vet is open, I would suggest you do that! We paid over $600, then 30 days later got a surprise bill for another $175, when we paid in full when we were there. When I called about the bill they said they forgot to charge us for one of the tests. We went through the cost PRIOR to anything being done for my dog. How is this legal???? Will NEVER go there again!

I was skeptical reading all the other reviews on the place as I had to get emergency treatment on my cat during the weekend. Not many vets are opened and none were opened at the time on a Saturday to get my cat treated for an eye infection. Although there was a wait (LIKE ANY WHERE) they got to my cat, and took care of him. You have to remember this is a College facility so many of the employees are STUDENTS. And yes it came out to be pricy but no medical procedures are cheap anymore. And for pets it’s worse. I wouldn’t recommend it as your first option since having a personal vet is better but if you’re out of options. MSU is reasonable. Thank you for your help!

It costs....it costs....it costs.....

This "hospital" did unnecessary surgery on my sister's 12yr dog for the $$$ and ended up killing him. He was supposed to have a "non invasive liver procedure " and was given anesthesia without our permission and died. I hope the $ (6k) was worth taking an innocent family members life .

If you didn’t think it was going to be expensive to go to MSU it might be time for a checkup with your own doctor for an evaluation. It’s pretty obvious. When it’s serious this is the place you want them to be. MSU does quality work, and quality comes at a cost. Why are there so many low ratings on here with comments solely based on price?

Please stop whining about the cost!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about MSU Small Animal Clinic. I have taken my dogs in numerous times and they have gone above and beyond for us each time. They are extremely thorough and I love how the Drs will sit you down and explain the treatment options. We’ve had numerous issues with other 24/7 clinics not fully assessing our dog and once it almost lead to him dying. We went to MSU for a second opinion and they properly treated him. Now we only go to MSU because we know they’re reliable. I called with some concerns and the Dr. (oncology dept) was adamant about seeing us same day – he rearranged some appointments to get us in asap. It’s apparent that they really care about your animals and will do whatever they can to help.
