The management tried to deflect blame for the delay to the publisher. When I confronted them with the reason why the publisher hadn't shipped the books, they admitted the third party had never payed for them. However, they refused to provide any sort of explanation as to why this was the case. They also refused to pay for the books in a timely manner so we could receive them.
Not to be confused as just a bookstore, it's a decent clothing, accessories & school supplies store. Everything here is highly endorsed with Sparty, the mascot of Michigan State University. For the same reason, it's also more expensive than other such stores.
They have lots of books and supplies you'll need but if you need to sell books, do it yourself! A $30 book I bought from them was only worth $1.25 when I went to sell it. Other than that it's a great store
I ordered a couple of required textbooks at the beginning of the 2017 fall semester. A couple of my classmates also ordered the books, even before I did. We paid up front, and were told it would take a week for them to arrive. Three weeks later, and four weeks in the case of my classmates, the books have not arrived.
The Spartan bookstore contracts with a third party to buy books from the publishers. Although the managers won't admit it, one of the employees told me the third party regularly fails to pay its bills on time.
Needless to say, this is unacceptable and irresponsible. They have been sitting on our money for weeks, while we wait indefinitely for required textbooks.
Kind of pricey but if you need supplies quick, they have pretty much anything you need for school supplies. They also have Spartan apparel, and gifts for families.
Beware of ordering books from this store. They are irresponsible.
One of the employees called the publisher to ask why they had not shipped. We were told they would ship the books within three days as soon as the Spartan Bookstore paid for them.
